Dr. Samir Vakil, DPM, is a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine, currently residing in Punta Gorda, and practicing as a podiatric physician and surgeon in Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte since 1993.
He received his BS in Microbiology at the University of Florida, and both his MS in Biomedical Sciences and his DPM at Barry University. After graduating podiatry school, Dr. Vakil completed a Foot & Ankle Trauma Fellowship in Feldkirch, Austria, followed by a Podiatric surgery residency at St. Francis Central Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
In addition to serving as Secretary on the Executive Committee of the Florida Prescription Drug Monitoring Program Foundation’s Board of Directors. He is a member of the Florida Podiatric Medical Association, where he has served as President in 2012 and 2020. He is also Past President of the Charlotte County Podiatric Medical and the Charlotte County Medical Society.
Dr. Vakil is very active in the community, serving as a volunteer physician for Charlotte County and the Virginia B Andes Clinic, and as a former Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America
